Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
This document sets out how DC Concepts (Pty) Ltd (“DC Concepts”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information, and the terms that apply to purchases, bespoke orders, quotes, delivery and installation. By contacting us, placing an order, or otherwise using our services you agree to these terms and our handling of personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and applicable consumer laws in South Africa.
1) Who we are & scope
We are a South African carpentry and bespoke joinery business providing design, fabrication, delivery and installation services nationally. These terms apply to all enquiries, quotes, bespoke orders, online purchases and site use, unless a separate written agreement is signed.
2) What we collect & why
- Contact details — name, email, phone/WhatsApp: to provide quotes, updates and support.
- Project details — measurements, address, materials, preferences and notes: to prepare accurate quotes and complete work.
- Attachments — photos, plans, PDFs you provide: to assess and plan work.
- Payment & billing — invoicing details and records for fulfilment and tax/accounting.
- Site data — essential cookies, server logs and analytics (where consented) for site security and improvement.
3) Lawful basis, retention & security (POPIA)
We process information where necessary to perform a contract (quotes, orders, installations), where you have given consent (optional marketing) or where we have a legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, business operations). We store data only as long as needed for the purpose, statutory accounting requirements, warranty support or as legally required. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data (access controls, encrypted transmission where available, secure disposal).
4) Your POPIA rights
You may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccuracies, deletion (subject to legal/contractual retention obligations), limitation or objection to processing, and portability where applicable. To exercise rights, contact us at info@dcconceptsza.co.za — we will respond within a reasonable time and may require identity verification.
5) Sharing & third parties
We do not sell personal data. We share only what is necessary with trusted suppliers, installers, payment providers, courier/transport partners and IT/hosting providers. Where we share, we require confidentiality and security obligations. Transfers outside South Africa will be limited and subject to appropriate safeguards.
6) Cookies & analytics
Essential cookies are used for site operation. Optional analytics or marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta) will only run with your consent; if enabled we will provide controls to update preferences.
7) Orders, quotes & deposits
- Quotes are estimates based on information provided and remain valid for the period stated on the quote. Additional work or variations may attract extra charges.
- Bespoke orders typically require a deposit (as stated on the quote). Production will not commence until the deposit is received and any agreed design/measurements are confirmed in writing.
- Prices are shown in ZAR and exclude optional delivery/installation unless specified. VAT where applicable will be shown separately.
8) Payments, cancellations & refunds
We accept the payment methods indicated on invoices. Cancellation of bespoke orders may incur a fee to cover work already performed and non‑recoverable supplier costs. For standard product purchases, returns and refunds are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (where applicable) and our returns policy:
- Defective goods: notify us within a reasonable time; we will repair, replace or refund at our option.
- Change of mind on bespoke items: bespoke/custom items are non‑returnable unless otherwise agreed.
- Refunds (where due) will be processed within a reasonable period after validation and may exclude transaction fees where applicable.
9) Delivery & installation
- Delivery times are indicative and subject to material lead times and stock. We will agree a delivery/installation window where possible.
- Risk passes to you on delivery; ownership passes on full payment unless a written agreement states otherwise.
- You must ensure safe access and accurate site information. Additional site works or unforeseen access issues may incur extra costs.
10) Warranties & liability
We provide workmanship warranties as stated on your invoice/quote. Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied products where indicated. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to re‑performance, repair or replacement of faulty workmanship or products supplied by us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss except as required by law.
11) Intellectual property
Designs, drawings and photographic material created by DC Concepts remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing. You may not reproduce or exploit these materials without our prior written permission.
12) Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Where possible, parties will seek to resolve disputes by good faith negotiation or mediation before litigation.
13) Contact & complaints
For privacy requests, complaints or customer service matters:
- Email: info@dcconceptsza.co.za
- WhatsApp: +27 64 978 0191
We aim to acknowledge enquiries promptly and resolve complaints quickly. Formal POPIA complaints may be referred to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
